Default Boost Problem?

My 2002 A4 1.8TQuattro Tip seems alot slower than usual for some reason. I hear this really high pitched whine coming from the engine all the time, is this a leak maybe? or just the sound the turbo makes? It is supposed to run 0-60 in 8.5 (which is pitiful itself) but its even worse than that, its over 10 seconds i swear. There is little response in first gear when i put it down to the floor, second is a little better, but it just seems alot slower than what it used to be. DV problem maybe? but i don't hear any chirping, and my car isn't chipped so i don't see why it would be that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

A whistle sound can indicate that your diverter valve is failing. You may also have a vacuum hose leak.

There is more than just one. If you look in your engine bay you'll see a bunch of them.

Check the fat turbo hoses . . if there is a leak you will be able to hear it with like a ffuuuuuiisshhhhssss, vacum leaks are a bit trickier, now if you are still having problems detecting the leak, try a soapy solution at the joints of the turbo hose, if you see bubbles there is your leak.

Good Luck
