Ha ha scratch one up for 2kS4! Re-post this back in the A4 section, you'll get a lot more replies.
If you know where the dv is and you have a vaccum pump gun, try taking off the vaccum line to it and pumping up the vaccum with the gun, if it won't hold vaccum the dv is bad replace that.
Then take off the belly pan and do a though search of all the intake lines, if nothing is found and replacing the dv does not help take it to a shop that can smoke test the intake system.

Hello eveyone, i have a 98 a4 1.8t q. I seem to be lacking power somehow and i am unsure of why. When i first start my car up no matter how hot or cold it is, i will have alooooooooot more power and then within 10 minutes of driving, i will feel it lacking power. I also have a giac chip and a 710dv. My car still feels faster than when it was stock even when i am lacking power, but i can not figure this out, can anyone help me?

George

Get a boost gauge - then you can come back here and tell us if you are actually having more boost in the begining VS. once your car gets warmed up. Do you have a CAI(cold air intake)? do you have a proper heat sheild on it? How long have you had the chip?
