Are these pretty common on the 1.8t? My '96 gave me a massive kick at about 5k last night when i was racing another car, in 4th gear it just lept and flew, felt much more than 150bhp then. I'm guessing this was a boost spike unless i'm wrong?

 

no turbo cars pull like v8's on the highway. all turbo cars do. even the carborated '84 mustang SVO. 2.3L turbo charged four banger

 

so it's normal on the a4 then?

 

yeah ALL TURBO CARS DO. its because of the increased airflow at high speeds
