Boring out the cylinders
i thought a little about that. What are we talking about thou. I like that thou then when i have my lights and tint and evrything i will not loose them just change the engine and be able to keep all my mods to the exterior and interior. How much r we talking for the engine? Install? (def wont be doing that myself)! Is teh only difference between a 1.8T and 2.8 the engine? No chassis deferences? I think the tranny is different on a 2.8? But i know that it will still fit a 1.8T b/c ppl have already done that mod to 1.8T. Would i need a new ECU?
Price is hard to say. You could always go the junk yard route, try and find a soul who would do a straight swap, or buy one from the paper/ebay. Install would be pricey, but I'm sure you could find a friend who can drop in a motor.

This would be great seeing as you could get the turbo and intercooler seperate. (for the larger set-up you would of course be looking for.)
As far as the tranny goes. Your tranny would be great, you could talk to audiboy bought that.
And for ecu...yes you would need a new ecu.

just another point on the boar thing...
if you boar ur block, your probally gonna have to either modify your head, or just get a new head all together. i dont kno if they sell performance heads in the aftermarket, i was acually wondering my self.
with increased boar comes higher pressure in the combustion chaimber. basically your engine is trying to squeeze a significant more air/fuel mixture into a not so significant volume increase in the combustion chaimber. an upgrading of the crankshaft and connecting rods, not to mention modifying your block to you can fit the new crank would be necessary to make it so your pistons dont start swiching holes on you, or you throw a rod or somthing.
id defanatly leave engine inturnals stock, audi had many engineers work for many hours to get the design right, i wouldent *** it up using some shmo mechanic or machine shop just in the search of more power, to me, its an isult to audi, in a way...
however, if your looking for more power a supercharger, or a twin turbo kit would defantly satisfy your needs. not to mention high performance everthing from fuel, to electriacal, to air inlet and exaust..
the possibilities are endless!!!!!!
happy tuning man, dont be stupid...

twin turbo? Is there a kit or r u talking about custom. Yea i noticed taht it was a bad idea. Trust m eit wont be done to this car. Myabe to a crate engine if i ever get to start my hot rod.
I think that the answer is the same that it has been for the last 6 months.
There isn't much you can do for a reasonable price that would significantly increase the power of your car AND result in a reliable car that can get your from point A to point B.
IF you are interested in engine modifications that will markedly increase your power, you WILL need to sell your car and start with either an A4 or an S4.

for the price it will cost you to do a 1.8t swap you could be in the same price range as a S/C and then you will be a hella lot faster than the stock 1.8T that you will have and have to work from that have you seen the used PES S/C on VWvortex for like $2000.00
