Default Bose Shelf Speaker Swap

I tried searching, but didn't find a clear answer. Is it possible to swap out the Bose shelf speakers in my 99 A4 with aftermarket 6.5" non-sub speakers?

the ones on the rear deck, im almost positive those have amps biult in and if you remove them you need to power them somehow.. could be wrong I just left them there when i hooked up my aftermarket and used the audi bose speakers with the stock amp..

I took my rear spakers out and put in some rockfords but they sounded like ****, no base, so i took them out and put stock back in. If you are going to replace them get a component set, somthing that accually is 6.5" subs will sound a whole lot nicer.

I thought the seperate amp was for the other interiors, all I know is I had bose, and I left it all intack and all the speakers work and sound 100x better with my new head unit.. i just thought i remember reading that they had seperate amps
