So i'll ask a question while i'm reading this..
i just bought my car.. '02 1.8t, and it has a forge 007 on it, with a stock airbox. From searching i know that if you by the carbonio intake..which was i was going to order within the next few days..the sound is somewhat like a BOV. Would it be wise to just buy the the forge splitter, and save about 110 bucks by not buying the carbonio intake? Because all i'm mainly looking for is the noise because i've heard that the stock airbox is a high qualityfor a stock airboxand that you can't get much better. And i dont want to do the DIY airbox mod, I just want the noise of a BOV by either buying a carbonio intake or getting the splitter. Any reccomendations?

I will never, ever understand the infatuation people have with the damned blow off valve noise!
You'd buy a bloody carbonio just for the psst noise!? Insane.
I seriously don't get it. You need people to know you've got a turbo? I'm just asking a question... I'm TRYING to understand. Somebody help!

Dude the sounds awesome... You can bash it all you want, but does your car make it? Get an intake, I'm sure you'll have a different opinion and be quite into it if your car made it. I love pushing on the gas into boost real quick then letting off, its become a personal obsession. I personally love the sound, and I have good taste.. hate ricers... etc...

Thats just my opinion.... it can be annoying when people use it to show off and such, but I love it.

I was pulling through a drive through today, and on my left is obviously the building and to my right was a brick wall... so it was like an ally.. no one in the line so I took it up to 3k and released it, "Pshhhh" echo'ed and my exhaust hit a deep wierd noise with some minor pops... it was seriously sex.. I love the sound![8D]

I love the sound. It was a nice byproduct of the mods I did while still using a DV, and I really have grown to love it. With that said, a BOV works fine itf you get the right one.

I used to own a DSM... the sound of a BOV is quite familiar to me, thanks.
I'm not bashing it, I'm simply questioning why anybody would go through great lengths and financial expense to get the sound... Some people debate whether they should run a BOV in spite of the obvious problems it has with our engine management, to gain the much sought after PSST sound. Seriously, priorities people!

Spending 300+ on a Carbonio intake was a classic example... he doesn't care about the power, he just wants the bloody noise. So strange.

Well then he should go with the less expensive, evoms intake.. and he will see performance if he gets the audizine heatshield.

He would spend as much money as the carbonio for more sound and performance.. Imo.

i have an '01 1.8T with a BOV, the HKS SSQV, and thats a gaurentee never to leak bc of how its designed, i got it put on professionally at a garage thats very reputably, APTuning(Automotive Performance Tuning) and i kno for a fact they have a specialy pack of goodies to put it on and cause it not to leak, but told me that this is one of few that acutally work on a 1.8T motor
