if you have to dissassemble it and re-lube it... why is it worth the trouble? I'm sure a high end DV would be able to suit your needs, and no hassles. Like I said before, buying a BOV and using the recirculation kit seems like your taking an extra step, or overcomplicating things... why not just use a diverter valve?

and like I think I said at the beginning... if this kid thinks the blow off noise is worth driving around with a CEL all the time... then he should do it up.

Im not the one that wants the BOV on my Audi, I don't even have an Audi.
It would take alot more than this to scare me away from a bunch of Nancy's on here.
After driving my first Audi today, that 2.8 V6 thing is pretty slow.
I had to beat the crap out of it to get ANY power out of it. I now its a quality car built for handling
reliability, luxury, blah blah...those are the reasons I am looking at one. Its just hard going from a really fast car
to a really slow one. Even if power isn't your main motivation for buying one.
Im hoping the 1.8T is a whole nother story because if it drives like that 2.8, its not happening. The dealer was wondering why
I was getting so much from my old car so he wanted to look at it, after looking at it he wanted to drive it
after driving it he wanted to trade me for that 2.8!!! I am not exaggerating at all, I thought it was hilarious. It was a
small dealership out in the stix. Ill let you know how my test drives go this weekend.

God dang thanks man thats the first honest answer Iv'e gotten since I have been here.
I have faith in German engineering and I know with a little money it should be as fast as my stock boost
240SX. As long as it feels as quick as that then I am sold. Nissan makes a CA18DET that is comparable to
the 1.8 liter you guys have...what size is the turbo anyway? Well like I was saying, the CA motor can take alot of
abuse but its weak link is the tranny, with a good tranny it can make over 300hp on stock internals. That would be
satisfactory with me on an Audi, but they are also about 600lbs heavier than my 240...so I hope we can make up for that.
I will be happy as long as I feel power come on about 3500 rpm because that 2.8 didnt start going until like 5000rpm, reminds me of an S2000. In my opinion Audi should have made the 2.8 RWD and more torquey, my prelude had about the same torque and weighed less. Then again this isn't considered a sports car. Why are the gears in this Audi so tall? I guess its made for the Autobahn? Are there any after market shorter missions for this car? That would make this car more fun. Have any of you driven a rear wheel drive 4 cylinder? The high revving powerband and stiff chasis make for a combination of fun and sliding. I love drifting and I am really going to miss that about my car. Maybe ill be able to drift this Quattro and represent Audi in some drift events!!! Maybe ill go as far as to commiting sacrilige and swapping an SR into this A4!!! I know a guy who swapped a 4G63 turbo into a porsche and had a blast with it!!!
Hell They are drifting Ferraris so why not an A4!?

The gears in the 1.8t are not so tall as the 2.8. I don't like the 2.8 shift points either - the 1.8t is much nicer in my opinion.
And the trannies on these cars are quite reliable. The weak link in audis has been various non-lethal items like coilpacks and the quickly deteriorating suspension bushings.

so I hope we can make up for that.

3500 rpm is exactly where you will feel the major section of a 1.8t power band.

You get enough power into a 1.8t and then you will enjoy 4wheel drifting - now THAT is a great feeling. Stock - you will never drift. Even with a chip I cannot chirp the tires unless I am on my crappy winter 15"s and on a turn.
