Default BOV question... No, not what you think!

I was browsing through ECS Tuning's website, and I came across this...

And it occured to me, that I had an HKS Super Sequential BOV laying around from the Laser... So which one of these items do I need to buy? Both of them? I'm kind of confused on how they're explaining it.

If you are going to reroute the BOV back through the system to keep it closed loop you will need the reirculation kit and the adapter plate. If you want to run it with out recirulating the discharged air back through all you need is the adapter plate.

the flange is the important thing so you can mount it on the stock pipe.I think it has to be welded on. But, get the resurc pipe to or you'll be blowing smoke out the rear because of the extra fuel delivery audis computers send to compensate for the extra air.

Yeah I just relized I'll need both items... So I'll have to get an adapted of some kind to attach it to the stop inlet pipe?

A BOV and a DV are the same thing. I don't see why so many people stress to not use a BOV because it will cause you to run rich. Not if you recirculate. If you pulled the recirculation hose off of the stock DV it will also cause you to run rich. He wants to change it to A: Hold more boost B: Look better C: Make that cool ricer sound. I for one do miss that sound. I have a Blitz bov (recirculated) in my GSX and I DO miss that sound between shifts on my Audi. Its not rice if its done for a reason. I am greatly against venting a car that is not made to vent.

Thank you blackflame, that is correct.

Call me a ricer, whatever... I love the sound of a Blow-Off Valve. Ever since I got rid of the Laser, I miss being able to scare the **** out of people walking on the side of the street.

I wish GM-MAF Translators worked with these cars.

Negative,
A BOV vents to the atmosphere where if he got that adapter plate and the recirculate kit it would then continue to be closed loop. If he just ran the bov it would take the discharged air and vent to the atmosphere and would not be closed loop anymore. A DV is the same as a BPV, that will be closed loop and the discharged air will vent back through the system.

A BOV recirulated is the same as a DV.
