Default Brake Dust on wheels

Just purchased a new A4 and the front wheels are getting very black in a little over a week from brake dust.

Anyone else have this problem?

Stop using too much tire shine, makes the dust stick to the wheels.
Try waxing your wheels too.

I haven't changed my OEM pads yet, but when I put in the A8 brakes I'm getting new, aftermarket pads. I found in the past, using Axxis Metal Master pads, that the benefit was threefold - stronger initial bite, longer life, and about 10% of the dust of the OEM pads. You would probably reduce the problem by changing to aftermarket, performance-oriented street pads when yours wear out (or sooner if it's really bugging you - the part change isn't too difficult).

I think I had axxis ultimates up front and pure stock in rear. The rear dusted worse but both were kind of bad. Now, it's a different story. I had all pads replaced with Hawk HPS and marvel how much less dust I have. I definitely think new aftermarket pads will take care of most of your problem.

yeah aftermarket pads will help. I've never tried the wax idea but it might work. I personally have EBC green stuff on all four corners and like them pretty well, good bite, no squeaking, and less dust.

I thought of a way to fix it....

Just stop breaking

When I first got my car I remember washing the wheels every 3 days

There really isin't much you can do about it.......... Just wash your car every week or two, and if it botheres you that much............go outside with a towel/cleaning solution, and whipe it off..

theres stuff called P21S that does wonders cleaning the wheels. it doesnt prevent brake dust from building up but makes your wheels look new with little effort. Personally, I dont wash my wheels at all, i found this was cheaper than buying black powder coated wheels.

hawk hps or ceramics, carbotec bobcats and a few others all cut dust dramatically
