Default brake light gets stuck

Hello all,

I discovered another nuisance in my 03 Audi A4 1.8T. The brake lights stay on after letting go of the brakes from a complete stop. I have to give it a little tap several times for the brake lights to turn off. I'm worried b/c it does seem like the brakes would engage by itself. There's times when it feels like while driving normally the car would almost seem to brake for a second... Anyone have any idea? I do get a lot more brake dust in the rear wheels than in the front. And the rear brake pads look almost worn out. Not sure if the brake light malfunction is just another indication for me to replace my rear brake pads??

Probably the sensor/switch for the brake pedal. Its not uncommon for B6's from what Ive read. If you have tiptronic, the braking sensation you get when not applying the brakes is probably the 4-3 downshift around 30mphwhen deaccelerating.

Yeah brake light switch problem for sure, as for the rear brake pads they wear out faster on B6 models and up faster than the fronts, usually they are toast by 25k.

Gotcha. The brake sensation does seem to be @ around 30mph or less. As for the brake switch cost and labor...have any ideas??

break switch is a plug and play ( twist/unplug ) its that simple and to refit you have to take the spare wheel out lol j/k
