Default Brake pad help

I am planning to change the rear brake pads my self; on second thought, I was wondering if the material matters.

I had an experience with my dad's car when he changed his pads. Eventhough the pads were brand new, they were making the screetching sounds. He was later told that the material of his pads weren't meant to be for his car.

I know that Mintex is one of the best brands, is it possible to get it at near by part shops such as Autozone and Pepboys or ordering online is the only way?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry if it was a repeated question. My Internet is super slow today so clicking through 5 search pages would take forever.

i use mintex and have no squeeling or any issues. i dont think its possible to find them locally. Check out www.getcoolparts.com for the parts. you get free shipping if you spend over $70, and sometimes free shipping for orders over $50 which is killer. Use the "audi006" coupon code for an additional 5% off their already unbeatable prices on oem parts (no i dont work for them)

Thanks for the input and the website!

I'll probably get them tomorrow with the coupon code.

I have EBC pads and mine don't squeak at all. The problem with most pads is that people don't bed them properly (break them in). There's a proper way to do it...
