Default Brake Pad Sensor Error

Just recently my b5 a4 has been telling me that I need to replace the brake pads. I took it into the shop and they told me that the front brakes were fine (no sensors in the back) therefore concluding that the sensor is misfiring. I was wondering if any of you have had this problem and what are some possible ways to fix this, instead of replacing them. I know a bit about cars; however, I do not know where the brake sensor, is or what I am looking for. Any input on my situation will be appreciated. Thanks

unless you really care about that the car tells you when the pads are bad, just find the sensor wires and cut and connect the 2 leads. secondly are you sure the light is for the brake pads since your saying theres no sensor in the back, or more likely are they the correct pads since the sensor is on the pads themselves.

i have a B6 and just did the front and rear rotors with pads..... the front rotors have a pad with sensors on them...the inner pad on both sides on the front....if you have a brake pad without the hook up for the sensor plug.... you are supposed to take the two wires going to the harness and splice them together...you can get one of those blue splice in connectors so you can quick disconnect later if you get a pad with a sensor hook up again... the ones with the sensors are expensive alot more than the ones without sensor hook ups...buy yeah...see if you have the hook up and splice the wires together, let us know how it goes..
