Default Error code help (poor acceleration -O2 sensor problem?)

Alright I originally started this thread: https://www.audiforums.com/m_643536/tm.htm

However, I went back and got the error code and this is exactly what it said: P0171 System too Lean (bank 1)

Is it still the O2 sensor or something else?

Anyone have any clue as to what this is?

Thanks much!

im pretty sure i had that code awhile ago and had to replace a couple vacuum lines that had leaks in it, could be an option but i could be totally wrong as well.

I had that code when my MAF was dead. Could be a vac leak, or 02 sensor too. Like I said in the other thread, if you have near 100k miles, just go ahead and change the pre cat 02 sensor and go from there.

ORIGINAL: avant80@2.6

P0171 = system too lean, bank 1

possible causes are intake/exhaust leak, AIR system, MAF sensor, fuel pressure/pump, injector(s) leak, O2 sensor #1

ill take a shot at it being either the MAF or vacuum pipe leak
Most likely a vacuum leak.

I had that one and it was the vacuum hose on the front of the intake manifold. It was VERY obvious what the problem was because you could see the nipple through the huge tear in the vacuum hose.

UPDATE: I checked for vacuum leaks and there were none. I also cleaned my MAF sensor as there was oil built up on it and put it back...

I thought that would have solved the issue, but I'm still getting the same error code.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Thanks!
