well i ran with a stock clutch for abit on my car. and it held for a while because i didnt every launch it and only floored it a few times. however that got lame after a while and i stated flooring it all over the place and then the clutch died shortly
APR Stage III+. No 1/4 mile stuff, but I do open lap track it. Rode hard on streets. Stock clutch still on 1500 miles in to kit install (about 3 months). Holding very well still. Clutch had 29k miles on it prior to going big turbo.
FE SS Southbend is what I'm going with when it does start slipping, but then I've got to break in for 500 miles and I don't feel like doing that right now. You can get Southbend for around $500 with free dual mass resurfacing. Install can vary greatly in cost. Some shops will rob you.
There are a few guys who ran big turbo kits with stock clutch for a while.
There are also lots of B6 K04 guys running stock clutch with very good HP/TQ numbers. Why does that matter? Because K04 power band throws torque at you fast and hard, while and APR ramps up more smooth. So it's almost like the APR GT28RS doesn't pile on tons of torque right away like a K04 does. Which may help in holding clutch a little longer.
If you ride clutch and you engage slow, you will burn it fast I'm sure.
Oh, and to get Jeff for Southbend good prices is prolly faster at audigeeks.com, since that's his site.
