Default Brake Pads

The on board computer is telling me that I need new brake pads. Are there any suggestions for what I should buy? I don't know what kind of brake pads are on the car right now (2003 A4 1.8T M), but I think I'm looking for something that doesn't produce a lot of dust and offers short stopping distance so I don't hit the deer. Thanks in advance and happy thanksgiving.

Go to ECSTuning.com They have alot of pads you can chose from. They are mostly Hawk, but you'll find what you're looking for there. Also, they have alot of big brake kits there.

Mintex red are good.

Not too much dust. They are good for $45.

But, if you have the $$$$, get a ceramic pad, they will be super low dust, and are supposed to be good performance as well. but, your gonna pay twice as much.

I recommend EBC Greenstuff pads to people...pretty good bite, minimal dust, no squeaking. I don't know prices off the top of my head.

whatever pads you get -make sure they are FF rated. It will say it on the pads and you grease the backing plate up
good luck

Don't bother with ECS. Their shipping is a rip off and you can find pads cheaper.

Don't use Autopartswarehouse either....most incompetent organization in the world. Their customer support is all out of India and a bit difficult to understand, so good luck rectifying any problems.
