Default brake question?

I have a quick question if anyone knows :

I have a 2001 A4 1.8TQM and was wondering what design the brakes were:

Diaginal Split

or

Front/Rear

?

Not sure what a diaginal split is. But most street cars are basically about 70% front brake and 30% rear brake (not sure exact %'s). Not sure if thats the info your looking for.

Diaginal Split = brake line goes to one front wheel and one back wheel.

Front/Rear = one brake line goes to both front wheels and the other line goes to the back wheels.

hope that is better clarification

thats kind of what i thought, but since we dont have or want a 50/50 split, they wouldnt install it.

no, front/rear. The diag would make the rears to strong and when hard breaking the rear would try to come around front.

thats weird, wouldn't it be safer to have a diaginal split so if one of your brake lines go out (taking out the brakes to one front and back wheel) then you would still have brakes in both the other front and back wheels.

If you lose the fluid with diaginal brakes, you lose one front and one rear.
This has nothing to do with proportioning front/rear.
