i need help changing my brake pads. is there a certain way that the c-clamp has to be on the caliper to push it back in so i can put the new pads on????? i know its a stupid question

Depends, front or back? If it is the front, there is no special way. Just stick the clamp on and push the piston back in. Make sure you keep your brake fluid resevour cap open. If you are trying to push the rear piston back in, you have to get a special cube tool, sold at autozone/advanceauto.

I know from experience that if get a loaner tool from autozone you have to put down a deposite but if you want to keep it just keep it they will just keep the deposit and buy a new one
