brakes

Default brakes

i have a 2000 a4 quattro and am changing front brakes and cant get the calipper back between the brakes any one know whats up

Do you mean, you can't push the piston into the caliper?

You might what to get some C clamps. You can squeeze the pistons back into the calipers which will allow you to get the caliper back on. You can also do it if you have killer grip thats how I do it takes longer but a little safer.

Try opening the master cylinder and using a C-clamp. If one sides brake pad is more worn then the other and you already got 1 side in already u may have a seized caliper and might have 2 shoot the piston out. We need a more detailed explanation of the problem and what you have done so far to solve it.

like others said, c clamp or large pliars with the old pads can work too, on b6 rear calipers, you must rotate them while pushing them in... be sure to open the brake fluid container before doing it though and keep an eye on it to make sure it doesnt overflow!
