Default Break dust problems!

I'm sure I'm being picky, but aren't we all.....

I'm driving my B7 and the brake dust is horendous! I could wipe down my alloys every day, and they would look gray the next. Do all OEM Audi pads do this, and if so, what is a good replacement that doesn't fade and has low dust?

Also, is there anything I can clean my wheels with that will help keep the dust from sticking as bad?

Thanks!

Try a wheel wax? How new is your B7? Maybe the brakes arent broken in yet!? I dunno, seems wierd... OEM pads are usually pretty good for dust.

Course, the b7 a4's have b6 s4 brakes, if I'm not mistaken... they are pretty agressive. Maybe dust is an unfortunate trade-off.

My S40 is the same way but it's the back wheels. The A4 doesn't have the problem though.

I'd try it! How much was it?

I hate cleaning my wheels... hard to describe why, but they suck.

Kinda what I was thinking..... And yeh, my A4 only has like 500miles on it (yeh, go ahead and laugh... told you I was being picky). Also, I can see streaks like maybe the dealership wiped the wheels down with something and it's making the stick worse.

spend the time and clean them right.

yank the wheel off and clean the whole thing remount and move on.

to be honest, with an audi you don't realy need the f'n wheels....

just take them off..

that way the brake dust only dirties the road.

I have a b6 usp, and yeah it's a lot of dust. and they cleaned mine with the same crap. it made the dust like gooey paste. I just cleaned mine with a goodbrush and hot hot soapy water.

not a problem now. but I wash my car every 4 days or so.

it's that initial clean that will make it easier for you.

scrubbing bubbles oven cleaner works wonders for that caked up crap on the insides of the wheels, and brillo has scrub 'n toss one use pads that really tear into that stuff without being too abrasive on your wheels. after you clean them, you can use original pam spray just apply to a rag and wipe on, learned that cleaning and preping stater breaches on old turbo jets.

the pam trick works only if you clean your wheels regularly.
