im not gonna critisize you like everyone else for your stupidity, but my guess is this the engine had some problem probably the turbo or something since you heard a loud bag fromt he right side. im also assuming your a 1.8t driver because ive yet o here of a 2.8 or 3.0 blowing up. since you were WOT the whole way and basically redlineing it it just eventually blue a head hasket and with oil just being used and thrown everywhere the engine finally siezed. that or sludge. either way i say its the engine. and i dont know what sup with the axle your mechanic said needed replacing.

 

1. im not going to flame 2. you f***ed up 3. you blew your engine 4. find a new mechanic becuase if he says " he thinks" he is no good, he should know for sure...if trannys are blown cars still start. I just got an audi, but it applies to all cars. as for the loud sound and low oil....look around the block and make sure you didnt throw a piston.
