brought the a4 to the stealership today...
well, the front control arm's squeek was getting more annoying than kathy griffins voice, so i decided to bring er in to the stealership, since my audi mechanic is in ct and dont feel like wasting the gas getting her up there. $111/hr + parts [:@] when it would cost me about $15-25/hr less at my guy.. oh well i'm supposed to get a call by 3, well at least i saw a RS4 mesh grill for $79 there, so at least when i get the car back home, she'll have new control arms and a new RS4 grill
yeap i know man its nuts. the other dealership i was going to bring it too was a little less if i remember correctly, but they were complete and utter a$$holes on the phone, you know like youre bothering THEM to pay them hand over fist to fix / look over your car. at least this place has friendly techs...
actually 91.95 canadian chris haha j/k but wow 111 american thats expensive we have to shop rates 69.95 for brakes ands tune up really nothing that requires any diagnostics and 91.95 for all the rest
ugh so i just get a call from the dumb receptionist around noon:
me: "hello?"
her: "umm hi, this is anchor audi, you missed your appointment."
m: "excuse me? i was there at 7:45 and dropped the car off."
h: "umm no you didnt"
m: "are you the only woman that works in the service dept"
h: "yes"
m: "you were the one that took down my information and put it into the computer, i even gave YOU the keys."
h: "no you didnt"
m: "your name is christine" (or whatever it was, ive forgotten since then)
h: "wait, what's the car registered under"
m: "my mother... its for insurance purposed"
h: "oh... ok we have it, sorry about the mistake."
three hours later:
h: "hello, yes this is anchor audi, we are calling to tell you that you're car wont be ready."
m: "wait, youve had my car since quarter of 8 and its still not ready???!"
h: "no its not, to be honest we havent even looked at it yet"
then she starts telling me that shes entered my vin number to pull up records on the car to see whether or not the control arm needs to be replaced blah blah blah, when i told her from the beginning its the front lower arm and it needs to be replaced as it squeeks everytime i go over a bump.
grrr, i swear if they charge me for 2 hours of labor to just look at it and then tell me they didnt do anything, especially after having it for a day, imma just put it under my AMEX, and then cancel payment on it when i get home. i'm partially considering going back now to pick it up without them looking at it
ok i'm dont ranting, i'm just totally pissed with this whole situation[>:]

I would just pick up your car and find a decent dealership somewhere else if you can.
I just had my 2001 2.8L A4 in the dealership last week for the control arm. It would rattle in the front left wheel every time I went over a bump. It was all covered by my Audi warranty with a $50 deductible, so I'm wondering do you have over a 100k miles? If not, your car should still be under warranty. Audi's standard warranty is 4 years/50,000 miles free coverage, and 6years/100,000 miles with a $50 deductible.
Audi assured only works if you buy your car from a Audi dealership and it is a option it does not kick in after the factory warrenty expires you need to buy it you can also get it if you buy a car used from a Audi dealership but only from a Audi dealership then again it is a option
yea, i just got a ride from my sister, and picked up the car, thankfully i only had to pay for the gas to get the car back. anyone have a good audi mechanic on LI? preferably in nassau on fairfield county, ct??
