bt guys, question.
Im considering a similar setup with a T3/T04E turbo. I have a 3' test pipe already, what else do I need to get it running properly? For example I know I need injectors, some sort of tuning software, and probly manifold. And sorry I didn't mean to thread jack but its a very similiar question to this thread.
one of the reasons that i wouldn't do that turbo is because its going to cost a lot to do with some custom work and it's not going to give you too much more power than a well done up k04 will.
but the FIRST thing you have to realize, is there is no cheap way to do a quality BT setup. you can half *** it and skip a few parts i guess, but that isn't good for anything. and will only cause more problems..
the reason that turbo is so cheap, is because it doesn't come with a wastgate. add another $350 for an external wastegate plus more custom work to plumb that into your downpipe if you choose..
trust me, it all adds up one way or another. figure a good BT budget of about 4-5 thousand dollars

so what about the GT2X since it bolts up to the KKK manifold, with bigger injectors, software? I am going to do the work with a few buddies so im not gonna pay a shop besides doing the injectors and software. so things should be a bit cheaper for me.

thats the turbo I want to use, I don't plan on using the manifold obviously.

do not use the GT2X. it has shown many problems by people using that turbo. it's usually blown up within 10,000 miles of use. it is also only oil cooled. which is another problem..
what i would suggest if you are wanting to do it cheap is to get a GTRS. been proven by many people and it's a direct replacement to the k03. basically, no custom exhaust work..
instead of me typing my fingers to death we should get together sometime and you can check out my car to see if you like the feel of my car, and i can be better help in person

lets just say that there is a reason that a tubular manifold and brand new turbo are only $199. it's ebay, knock-off junk..
go with a true Garrett. start with ATP's website. start here------>http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=GRT
look at theGT28r, GT28rs, GT2871r turbos specifically
