Bulbs
I did a search on this, but it came from the A6 section. Wanted A4 opinions.
I've been searching for the last hour. I have an 03 A4 with Xenons. I like the HID look, but don't see spending the $300 or $400 for a kit. From what I'm reading I'm not going to get the look I want without that upgrade...Is this correct?
I want to upgrade both the H7's and the H11's to the following:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT
Can I get some opinions??

You know the old saying, you get what you pay for. Those bulbs are not gonna pull off the HID look, they'll probably have less visibility than your stock xenons. Hmmm...if you get those I'm interested to see the end result.
I thought the same before buyin my set of HID's, but I took the risk of spending 250$ for some 10K HID's and 10000% worth the investment, I liked them so much I bought the HID kit for the fog-laps 10K too... super bright ...
def a good investment.
def a good investment.
I know that you get what you pay for, but please help me to understand:
If the lights I have now (OEM) are 55w for the high/low beams and if I need replacements I'd buy 55w H7's. Then why would these (eBay bulbs) be so bad?
They are H7's and they are 100w.
Same for the fogs except they're 80w H11's.
Just trying to understand why these are so bad or they don't light as well, etc...the common arguments for not getting bulbs like this.
I also know that the Color K (8500, 8000, 5000, etc) are just colors of the bulbs in comparison to HID's, right?

first off the biggest problem is the amperage draw from the bulb (older cars has the thickness in the wire to take this) newer cars halved this to save money so you need to add power reducers and relays to compensate, HIDS are good but over priced in my view and standard 55w/60 are too dull so I fitted 80w blues with good results, now im looking at infra red and on screen/monitor which has a much better result for seeing at night and its cheaper than HIDS, time progresses and we need to keep up with it
nothing special by the way its been done, infra red sensors in the mirrors with mini cameras linked to a screen and picks up heat so enhances night time viewing, jag/merc/Audi have similar systems but at an arm breaking cost
Go to this site. I order them here. I got the Roadmax metal white for my '03 silverado truck 80watt low and 100watt high more than 2 years ago, still no problems with them. I also got the Roadmax metal white H7 and H11(fogs) for my '06 A4, 55watt low and 100 high..I haven't installed the fog bulbs yet, I don't know how to take them out. I really like these bulbs, they are much brighter than the oem halogens and it's pure white
