Default Burned CLutch?

I know i am an idiot, but i made the mistake of letting my girlfiend dirve my car. uNfortunatel, she is more of an idiot than i once imagined. While shifting into 3rd gear, she only ket the clutch about halfway out and slammed on the gas. The engine revved up to 7000 rpm for almost 3 seconds, buring the clutch the whole time. It was the most disgusting thing i have ever smelled. Now, whenever I drive and I get out of the car, i can faintly smell the smell of burned clutch. My question is what kind of damage this did to my clutch, and will it maybe need to be replaced soon? BTW I have a 1998 1.8T QUattro with 83,000 miles.

Thanks
Joe

is it slipping yet but in in high gear at low speeds and put your foot to the floor and see if the rpm goes up but the car isn't going any faster

The clutch is probably glazed. Does the clutch engage any differently now?
