Default Burning seat heater

The seat heater burned a hole in the passenger side seat of my 1997 A4. Has anyone heard of this?

Do a search, somebody on here got audi to pay for the damages, I think. Somewhat of a common problem... but do a search, it might be worth your efforts!

That shouldnt matter... it should never exceed a certain heat... the guy who I am talking about didnt even have his on... he hadnt used them in months! The wires that run through the seats are scary thin... and if you kneel on the seats or anything, you can break them. Then its fire time.

I remember that too. He had quite a little fight with AOA if I remember correctly. Needless to say... cars OEM equipped with seat heaters shouldn't be burning up in the first place... let alone the end user being expected to pay for the damages of a manufacturer's dangerous mistake

Yeah, he made some pretty intelligent threats, and audi ponied up the dough.

Somebody find this... lol, I'm lazy, and getting ready to go to work/school.
