Default Buying an A4. questions!

Hello every one. I'm a new Audi enthusiast (and hopefully soon a new owner!) And I was wondering if I could get people's opinions on these two cars I’m looking at buying. The first car is a 1998 A4 Quattro 2.8l, manual transmission, 135k miles. The second car is a 1998 A4 Quattro 1.8t sport, manual transmission, with 103k miles. Both of these cars are about the same price (the 1.8t is a little less), but I can’t decide if I want the 1.8t or the 2.8. I want I car that will be fast 0-60 wise. I plan to leave it fairly stock for now. Hopefully later I can buy parts for it, but that will have to wait until I get some extra cash. So my main question is which one is faster stock, and what are the pro's and con's of each? Your opinions would be a great help. Thanks! One other think I forgot to ask, Will any of these cars need any major maintenance at this mileage? How long will the turbo last on the 1.8t?

Default RE: Buying an A4. questions!

search for more answers, but the 2.8 will be faster stock.. if you have any whim at all for performance mods later down the road get the 1.8t, there are simply no engine modifications worth the money for the 2.8

and the turbo on the 1.8will most likely last till you replace it with a bigger one
