Buying an A4. Suggestions?
Hello everybody!
I am buying my first car and i love the A4 (always have), and i found one somewhat in my price range at a dealership. its a silver 97 with 50,000 miles on it. I test drove it today, and i couldnt find anything wrong with it, but i know nothing about cars except how to drive an automatic.
anyway, the pickup on it was a little slower (slower than what i expected anyway), is that normal? or is the pickup on an a4 usually pretty quick.
And, in your opinion, how much is a car like this worth? (it had the works! heated leather,r 6 cd changer, moonroof, everything!)
Please let me know anything i should know because i would love to get this car.
Thanks,
rick

and how many miles on a used a4 is safe? i mean, i could get one with 100,000 miles on it for about half the price, but is it worth it?
i mean, they wont give me a warranty on the 50,000 mile one because they dont make '97 cars cpo's... is this safe? they

it is a quattro! and its an automatic, so i dont know if that has anythign to do with it.
they are asking 12-13,000, but that is before negotiation.
i looked on kelley blue book and they said a good point to meet at is somewhere in the 9,000 range. i just dont want it to break down, especially because i have to drive 720 miles to school, and parts aint exactly cheap.
