A/C
I know what to charge my car with, but I don't know your car, year or model. You might want to check under your hood and check the sticker which should tell you
Most likely it is 134a, but some info on your car would help.

On a 2000 1.8T remove the plastic around the battery. The low pressure side has the larger diameter pipe, and will be colder when the compresssor is running. Interdynamics makes a 19oz can that contains R134A , lubricant , stop leak and a gauge for $25. With the compressor on , add to the low pressure side.
Why you want to charge it ?
Is your system running low if so
get it checked out, maybe you have a leak
and its good to get it recoverd and vacum checked
you remove the moister in the system
and your parts loast longer
Evap etc...
