I have been trying to pin point a problem on my 12v, I was wondering if any of you guys can help me out by unplugging your MAF sensor to see if your car will start.... Im in a bit of a dilemma. My car wont start either way[&o]! Thanks for your Help. Here is the link to my other thread

it will still start. i think your problem goes beyond your k&n and maf. might wanna try takin it to a shop and see what they say.

 

No it will not, i know i had to move my car in a hurry once when i took the MAF out for cleaning. the MAF measures air, if its not there the car will assume theres no air to make combustion.

 

It acts as a sensor or something, thus it won't cause there would be no air flow.

The engine should run with the MAF sensor dis-connected, it may take several times of cranking the engine for the ECM to adapt to the sensor not working.
Its one of the ways we check for bad MAF sensors by dis-connecting them while they are running.

 

Bad news I just got back from a wrecking yard, and got another sensor same year, same engine. and it still wont start.....any ideas?

 

2 things.... would the VAF restrict the car from starting? And also what would be the symptoms if my computer is messed up? I pulled a MAF or VAF a circuit low input P0102 code when scanned.

 

I already told you the MAF SENSOR WON'T CAUSE A NO START!!!!!
You probably have a problem with the wiring to the MAF sensor but you have other issues.
If you don't know what your doing then stop, check for fuel and spark, thats whats needed for the engine to run.
Pull off the fuel feed line and stick it into a water bottle, turn the key to the on position and see if any GAS comes out. If not check for voltage at the fuel pump.
If the fuel is ok pull out the spark plug with the wire attached and check for spark.

 

Ive checked for fuel, and spark im getting both. Would it be a problem with theother end of the connection via the computer?
