I also have a 3.0 6 speed...does the chip really give u better gas miledge?? & if so does it harm the car...last thing I wanna do is screw with the engine!!

15mpg... someone has a led foot.That's S4 mileage numbers. The car is not meant for racing... Since you just got the car you might want to acclimate yourself with itbefore you goracing on the highway.Just be safe and enjoy the car.

 

yea... I do have a led foot... especially when there is so much space in front of me... the car just seems to go.... lol anyway did u do anything to YOUR car? We almost have the same exact car... down to the color

 

my mileage is based on all city. i take short trips and its col out which accounts for even less mileage. when accelerating my instantaneous MPG sticks from 10-13mpg. nothing better.

 

I didnt do anything to it yet... Just a drop in K&N filter which just changed the sound of the intake. I have a b6 S4 exhaust that someone gave me, i'm gonna put that on but dont expect any real power gains. I might get the car chipped sometime in the spring andget some coilovers and a rs4 sway bar. I think that will be it for my mods. Im in the Bronx too BTW

 

Wow a lot of wierd posts in here.
First off the 3.0L engine is not desinged to be modded heavily.
A chip will increase the fuel mileage about 2% over a MPG average of 18 MPG's.
The chip will only increase the horse power about 8 horses on 93 octane max.
Its true the 3.0L engine is a gas hog, my S4 gets 22 MPG's on average and makes a lot more power doing it.
There is a prototype twin turbo set up for the 3.0L engine in production, which is insane to install! The super charger is the ONLY way to increase the horsepower.
Down pipes (if you can find them) is the only other good mod to do to increase combustion efficency to increase horse power.

hmm downpipes..I found a pair for a grand & claim 25 hp gain...is 25 hp going to fell noticeable??

 

It isn't worth it to get a chip for 3.0. You pay $300 - 500 for5 -8 HP. Also,you can't supercharge it if you have tiptronic.
BTW, I bought my car from Bell Audi too.
