Camshaft?
audiboy i have a 2.8 and will eventually s/c it and that turbo was for a 1.8T i was just saying how cool that is. Hopefully will have enough money for the s/c by the end of summer. Exhaust hopefully by june. Black rims hopefully by end of the month.
i talked to upsolute and they gave me a great pt and it was that these camshafts for the 1.8ts are pointless unless you are running a large turbo on your car bc of the lift size.
euro cams makes them for 550 for a set. i believe the lift was like 11mm and thats pretty crazy. if u are planning on just doin a k04 get comp cams to do a custom grind. just get the specs off another cam and re do the lift size

Camshafts will help greatly in the area of performance that you are looking for. But you have to be aware that with the addition of camshafts you will need to replace the valve springs and valve retainers. That also might be a good time to clean out all the oil sludge.
u only need to replace springs and retainers once u go over a certain lift. call up upsolutes hqt in sc and talk to them. they will tell u it is pointless to get one if u keep a ko3/04 turbo bc those turbos dont flow enough air to push in those kinda lifts they make for our cars which are 11mm lifts and with those lifts yes u will need new springs and retainers. that cam is made to make the power at the top of the powerband and a k03/k04 isnt. u shift at max 6500 when u should be shift alot higher with those lifts bc u will never see the potential powerband and will lose so much lowend. you will also need a lightend fly to shoot u into the powerband faster bc like i said ur not gonna see it till the top. trust me k03/k04+cams=pointless
