Can anyone help?
Does anyone know of any people or links of people that have done up v6 a4's for 2001... the 2.8 i can't find **** for it and i want to make it quick and from what everyone ssays on here theres only like 5 modifications for it and then a supercharger.... I'm new to this car thing i'm actually sitting on a military base waiting to go home and drive the car for the first time... In the mean time i want to buy parts... For christ sake i don't even know if the 2.8 is turbod i just got a really good deal on it and bought it without asking if it was turbo'd... I'm so clueless it's rediculous so I figured i'd ask the experts if my 2.8 quattro has a turbo and if anyone has done up a 2.8 that i can copy... Thanks, Ryan USMC
You can do engine modifications to it. You can supercharge it, which will get you the most power, and you could also add an exhaust and an intake that will get you minimal gains. You could always add new cams, but for the most power, go supercharger and exhaust.
Why the hell is the v6 not modable... I have a bunch of parts I can get but nothing major... You mean to tell me there's not one person/company that has done up v6 audi's from 2001
This frustration is not towards you guys it's just so hard to belive

1) because its harder to (no turbo)
2) because a bigger motor dosent nessecarily mean better
3) v6 is heavier
various other reasons, it happens all the time when people dont research they see a bigger motor and think ! great more power !
incorrect

It's for the reasons thal Lazer Viking said, plus the fact that Audi offers two turbo engines in the A4 (1.8T and S4). If people are going to mod for power, they usually buy one of those two models. Most companies (rightly) believe that they'llmake the most money producing parts for the engines that come from the factory with a lot of untapped potential. The 2.8 doesn't have a lot of that (compared to the boosted engines), so it's less cost-efficient to develop parts for it. Sucks for us.

Eurospec sport makes 2.8 turbo motors but it would cost you. You could do it without a whole motor. You would need different pistons (9.5 to 1 or less), different valves (I believe, I'm not sure if A4 v6's had sodium cooled exhaust valves), probably a port and polish on the head (i'm not sure if the heads are the same as the s4)turbo manifolds (I would bet s4 headers or manifolds would fit) and everything else dependant on what turbos you choose. Either way you would need a standalone fuel management system for it.
A supercharger would be cheaper.

leave your 2.8 the way it is, no mods for it, you choices, stock, intake, exhaust, chip(better throttle response), expesive pes supercharger or custom turbo, bit very expensive, best bet sell your 2001 2.8 and get a 97 1.8t, then with the left over cash get a gt28rs turbo.
