Default Car stopped after oil light turned on

So i was driving to work was about to accelerate when my oil light turned on and started beeping. I also heard like a really loud sort of buzzing sound coming from the front of the car and the engine shut off. Now i try to start it and all i can hear is the starter buzzing (only way i can describe it) engine wont turn over now. Engine oil level is good kinda smells like gas tho. Turbo spins fine its not locked up or anything. And the turbo is new just installed last week. Can anyone help me out!

Its a 1998 audi a4 1.8t

So after getting the car home i started looking into what had happemed. When i pulled the timing belt cover off i discovered that half the teeth of the belt had been sheered off. The car has 240 and i resently got it from someone who owed me 400 bucks and they gave ne the car as payment. Looked like the belt had never been changed. So my new question is what other damage could have happened to the engine? Timing belt broke while the car was running so what posibilities is there that i had piston to valve contact qnd bent some valves or damaged piston? I think the oilpump runs off the timing belt aswell so i would imagine oil pump stopped pumping aswell ruining bearings? Not quite sure how to check for this. Need to know if i can just change the timing belt set timing on it and be done with it or would it be better to just buy another engine? I have one ready for me to pick up 80k miles on it for 800.

So best bet is i have some bent valves =/ so since i already found another engine with 80k i figure best thing to do is buy a timing belt kit from ecs and replace everything on the other engine thwt way i know where im starting. Cheaper than replacing valves i would imagine

You got it. If the other engine is still out it might not be a bad investment (depending how long you want to keep the car) to freshen the internals up as well (new gaskets, check the crank bearings and replace if needed, etc...). Since the engine is out a rebuild would be some what inexpensive (notice I said somewhat)!
