car tops at 130?
Like has been said, if you get chipped the top end limit goes away.
The B7 is supposed to be limited to 132, but I've had mine to between 135 and 140 before it cuts out. Shame, it still has plenty of pull at that speed.

haha..that's funny. Yeah mine's 130..haven't gotten that high but its governed at 130. I did get about 120 a few times in Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho bringing my car back from Cincinnati to WA when I bought it. It was straight and no traffic..as safe as could be on highways.
130 seems to be a pretty fair limit, due to the fact that the majority of our highways our governed at an average of 70mph.. So 130mph is really dangerous.. why try to go faster unless your on a track? Dunzie182 have you hit 130 yet?
My standard response to the "why" question is to simply ask "why not"? These cars are purpose-built to earn their keep in their homeland, where there are no speed limits on many roads. Having done the whole autobahn thing, it just doesn't seem to me to be that big a deal. If there are no other cars on the road (highway, actually) then the only thing that matters is how capable the car is in my hands. The one time I had my B7 at 135+ it felt perfectly settled.
I dont see the point in wanting to get it off. Its gonna take you half a minute to get it up there anyway, why don't you worry about that first. Top speed runs were so "Im 16, just got my liscense and my speedo says 160, lets show my friend how badass I am." just seems immature to me.
