I really dont believe you searched because there are a ton of threads on this. https://www.audiforums.com/searchpro...bmitbutton=+OK+

Carbonio is a dressed up version of the stock box so if have the $$$ then get it but there is no real power gain from it.

I did search but I didnt turn up all that. Thanks anyway...so I take it there is no real gain out of an airbox mod. Its just for sound? would that be the same with the aftermarket intakes too

Stock is very efficiant for what it does. Any mods to it will require a heat shield to avoid loosng power.Opening the stock 1 with the "swiss cheese mod" will give you more air but is more for sound unless you areupgradingthe turbo.

I was looking at some pictures of some airbox mods and I am kinda confused...if you drilled holes into your wheel well wouldnt you fling water and stuff into your intake.

btw i know why i didnt find it before....because i failed to scroll down like a dumb@#$

Ah yes the scroll button.

You do have a chance of that which is why some dont want to do it. On the other hand the 1's that have dont seem to be having a problem with it. They also use screen material to stop things from coming in. I supose a thin peice of foam could work just as well.

When spring hits i'll be putting on the fmic and using 1 of the hoses to pipe from the air box to the front of the car. Not sure how yet cause i dont have a warm garage to design it.

A guy actually did a mod like that. he has the tubing material like in the back of a clothes dryer pulling in air directly from the front bumper. i forgot who did it
