CarPC - Just installed it in my A4
heeey
Basically, in a nutshell, i installed a computer in my 97 A4 2.8 ..

awesome man love the final install...creative clean and functional...quick question though dont really understand how you ran the screen to the laptop did you completely remove the faulty lcd and run the new screen wires to where the old lcd was connected?

Whats the microphone for? And whats its main purpose anyway??? Kinda hard to play solitare when your behind the wheel right?

Thanks! I just ran the screen from VGA/USB in the back of the laptop ..
simple as cake! althought I thought of wiring it to the now empty ports on the laptop mobo, the guage wiring needed though would probably fry the board out tho..

) once i get that fixed I'm going to get tints. The mic is for my voice activation.. use voice controls 75% of the time for everything, 25% for the stuff that cant be programed/voice recog. doesn't understand.

Right now I'm using it for mp3s and video clips.. it plays dvds too but its sliightly a hassel especially if you're driving, but I'll fix that soon. In another week or two it'll have usb GPS, and I have a friend who wants to hook his phone/pda thing to it.. claims he can get me internet access from it, so it might end up having internet access in the near future. It'll pretty much do everything i need it to do except play WoW.

ya get like 20% tint. you could run your own little corporation out of your car now with all the capabilities. All you need now is a coffee maker and a sexy back seat secretary.
