Carrier Bars - Width Adjustment Ok to do?
Hi All,
I've just upgraded from a 2001 A4 to the 2008 A4. From the 2001 I have the base carrier bars, however, the width of the 2008 roof is wider. The bars have 2 bolts on each side and I noticed that I can adjust the width if I remove both bolts, slide out one of the edges and leave it bolted with only one of the bolts.
I was able to fit it and tighten it and it looked secure. My question is - is this ok to do? It seems fine, but I'm not sure if there is a real difference with the structure of these bars between 2001 and 2008.
Does this make sense?
Thanks,
