Default CD Changer

I have an 01 A4 with a Symphony sound system (no cd changer)

My 98 a4 with bose/cd changer got totalled and they let me take out the CD changer and keep it.

My question is, would it be just plug and play to put the CD changer in my 01 or do I have to do something else?

Thanks

If your 98 had the 13 pin connector, then you are golden. If it's an 8 pin, then you are SOL.

It is a 13 pin connector so thats good news...

So its just plug and play from here? I won't have to mess with the radio or anything at all??

Yea, I was pretty sure that I wouldn't have to, but I just wanted to be 100% sure before I did anything because sometimes Audi is weird like that

I can't seem to find the 13 pin connector.. All i see is a big printer like port.. Is it possible that I dont have one? or is it just hidden or taped up somewhere?

in your 98 was the changer hanging from the top of the trunk? In 2001 it should be in with your little tool box thingy... and the plug will be wrapped in a dark gray foam.

Is it up in the top part, or more towards the bottom...I feel so stupid, but I can't find that port!

Electrics are not my thing[:@]

It would have sat against the side of the trunk, on the left. Plug should be behind the panel somewhere. I can't recall if there was an access cover, its been nearly 7 months since I had my A4
