CD Changer Problem!

Default CD Changer Problem!

I have an A4 1999 Quattro , just as it hit winter here in canada one day i was driven and i didnt like what was on the radio so i clicked the "mode" button to listen to my CD's and nothing happend the radio just stayed on...i clicked it about a million times and still nothing happens . I went to the back took out the cds put it back in and it still doesnt work! has anyone expierenced this. is there anything i can do or look for?

You can try cleaning it. Get one of those cd's with the brushes on it. That is if it is a cd changer issue and not something else. I had this problem sporatically on my same model and the cd still spins but the sound wasn't coming through. Mines would play but then at some inconsistent point cut out and not come back on until it decided or I restarted the song or disc.

Otherwise, if the changer is shot, you can get an alpine changer with an interface adapter (seperate purchase) that would allow it (the alpine)to work with your stock deck. It's a much better changer.

Id say that the button might have crapped out. Try a tape and see if the mode button will switch between the tape and the radio. You can also try unplugging and plugging the changer in an attempt to "reset" the radio or the changer.
