Default CEL & Diverter update!

ok, so I just ended up putting a new cone intake onto my car along with a small on the maf?

Anyways, I connected everything back up, it was running good. Then after driving for about 15 min I got a cel... what causes this?

Also would you recommend keeping that stock air hose thing that connects to the air box on or off, along with the top cover?

UPDATE:

Ok so I was dirving around yesterday and it was kind of windy up here so when I herd my diverter valuve make the pshhhhh I thought it just got washed out by the wind. It really really sounded like the greddy (i think) bov that sounds like a rattle snake.... then later i was driving around at night when it was quite and it kept doing it. Could this be a loose divereter valvue? and possibly why I have a cel? What exactlly does the secondary air pump hook up to?

ok maybe not the maf... but whatever other air tube that is next to the air intake is... i thought that was the maf? I put a small filter on that...

ok... seeing I live in Steamboat Springs Coloraod (mountain town) and the biggest thing we have is a walmart... anyother suggestions on trying to find out which code it is? Do most auto stores have that?

Ill guess you fitted a cold air system? and the ( small ) your talking about is a vacuum line? if so it will be drawing air when it isn't designed for that so blank it off (both ends from where its coming from) then see if the CEL comes back on

no i belive the "small" one he is talking about is the tube that goes to the secondary air injsection, that should have a filter on it but wont cause the problem. My thought is taht he didnt hook the maf back up after he removed the box.

yes the secondary air injection was the one that I was talking about. That has a small filter on it.

Is the MAF the thing that has the suction cup looking thing on it? I did put this back, I took the original piece and connected that was connected to the air box and put that between the cone and the intake.

Just went back down there to make sure everything was connected and tight... it was. I'm guessing it is either that I'm running to rich or low...IDK Anyone else have this problem with putting on a new cone filter?
