I had an engine light appear on my Audi a4 1.8t 5spd FWD with 220xxx miles
I saw this and adv. auto parts was right next to me so i pulled up and asked for a scan, [Error reading codes] so i presumed it was their shitty scanner, so i used my snap-on scanner and i had an error communicating with the vehicle, i was using the correct translation key and everything, any onelse have this problem and arrive on a diagnosis?

I'll get the "lost communications" or "error communicating" regularly. I often pull the cord tighter or push the plug a little to get it to read. Not sure if this a common thing. I got a 03.

 

I think it might be the fact that i may or may-not have misplaced my gas cap 0.o lol
dumb mistake,
however not 100% sure this will make my CEL light on.
