hey guys just curious if theres any way to get check engine codes on a 2000 1.8t quattro without using a scanner...i know some cars let u with just turning the key a certain amount of times on and off or whatever....need to know before i go and buy a scanner...thanks

 

No. Go to Autozone, they'll do it free.

 

i had to go scan my codes like last week so i went to autozone and they said that they dont do free scans anymore, but the guy there told me to go to Pep Boys and they scaned it for free

 

That's weird - my local AutoZone and Advance Auto Parts both do free scans.
