CEL P1296 + clutch question
My car had a check engine light come on a few days ago while driving and the next time i drove the car it went off. Today it came back on and I had it scanned and it was a P1296 Cooling System Malfunction. The guy I took it too scanned it on the computer and they didn't know what caused this. I have no idea, the car seems to run fine. Only thing I can think of is ECTS, because sometimes in the morning when I start my car the rpms don't always go to 1,500 or whatever. Sometimes it just barely turns over and stays at 950.
Next question is when i'm taking off from a stop, i hear a thud thud thud sound which the car also hesitates during the sound. My clutch is on the way out so i'm hoping that will fix it. Any other ideas what that could be?

I have the same exact problems with the thud noise sometimes in 1st gear. A couple small thud sounds before I shift. I'm getting a new clutch soon, so I hope that fixes the noise problems.
only 2 probable faults with that code 1/. coolant temp sensor, 2 /. thermostat sticking, temp sensor is very important for gear change but on the auto only, change the coolant temp sensor and the thermostat to be fully confident, to the second person if the clutch is slipping change it
