Here's a pic of the old filter. The filters are white when new, so this one is pretty saturated and probably wasnt doing a great job. The little bits of crap is shavings from the filter casing from me sawing it in half. Other than that there were not chunks of stuff in there, just very saturated with greasy grimey nastiness.

man I need to do mine... 94k on what I suspect to be an original fuel filter is way, way too much!

Its completely different for the quattro... Like i said^^. You have to drop the gas tank a little and the lines are different on the filter for quattro models... For what reason, I have NO clue..

this is really really funny, cause ive heard no such thing

but i quote from the bentley manual....

"Audi specifies that the fuel filter used on all engines is designed to last for the life of the the vehicle.
There is no routine replacement required..."

I guess the gas in Germany is better than the US.

It also says that for the tranny fluid, which everyone knows is a load of crap. I think the pic of my old filter speaks for itself whether or not its good for the lifetime of the vehicle. Dont always believe what you hear, even if its Audi that is telling you, God knows they've been wrong before.
