changed my clutch...yay!! but question
so i took on the task of changing my clutch this weekend.....i followed the DIY on audidiy.com...http://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng48...........anyways it was pretty much right on except we found 11 engine bolts...or maybe it was 10...anyways......huge pain in the butt...but glad i took it on.....learned a whole bunch.....it took 28 hours total ( i pretty much knew how to change brakes and oil)....10am to midnight both saturday and sunday
anyways... my question is ...my clutch feels a whole lot lighter....and the friction point feels a good 3-4 inches lower.....it grabs perfect and everything and i got used to it in about 5 minutes but was just wondering if this is normal....
i changed the clutch and flywheel....a SPEC aluminum flywheel came out and the pressure plate and clutch disc didnt have any names on them that i could see...they were totally worn..wow it was bad
i replaced it with a stage 2 set from Southbend...and a lightweight flywheel from clutch masters.
thanks guys
and oh yea..my brother in laws dad (who made sure we didnt screw anything up)....mentioned that we could replace that ring on the flywheel where the clutch hits it and possible sell it.....how cost offective is this and would i have a prayer in selling it? same goes for the pressure plate....do they wear out?? could i recover some funds by hocking that? thanks again
