Default changed my timing belt and...

the engine seems to be making a rattling noise coming from the left side of the engine towards the timing belt and im not sure if its a piece of plastic or the tensioner pulley. the mechanic who changed it said he didnt hear anything but he said because its a new belt and new pulleys are in tat it may be a pulley cause the belt is new and tight. but when you buy a new audi (i bought mine used so i would not know for sure) i bet it doesnt make any rattling noises from the new belts right? anyboody have any ideas if he's right? Thanks!

could be water pump. I think onepoint8tee is also concern about the same or similar problem.

He could explain better.

could be a whole list of possibilities im trying to make it as clear as possible though so people can understand what im hearing lol. its kinda like it rattles every quarter second its not very loud but you can hear it very faintly when you come to a stop at a light especially when there are cars on either side of you cause of the echo.

no the car itself is performing very well and the engine seems a bit smoother since i got it back today. im bringing it back to him tomorrow though to see what he thinks it could be. (hopefully no bs cause so far hes been good mechanic!)

Good mechanics can become shady real quick esp.when they have to pull the front of the car off again to look at some stupid BS mistake they made.

I'm going to be the none motor person one person has to be. Check the clips and stuff on the bumper and on the plastic parts near there. Some times that will cause a rattle if it wasnt tightned down enough. I've had problems with this before its not ALL the time only part of it. I had an old Geo that did that every few secounds sure enough a simple turn of a wrech and it was solved. Just look for the simple before killing alot of money if he gets shady your SOL
