Default Changed timing belt and have a question

So I did the DIY timing belt. while I was working on the car I notice both the cam gear and crank gear moved equal amounts, I am assuming it happened while I was putting on the new belt. Either way I noticed this so naturally i freaked out. after calming down I checked the timing marks ( the audi marks and the ones i made mself on the crank), they both lined up perfectly. Once the car was pieced back together i let it idle while I filled up the cooolant. it idles fine and after about 20 min i heard a slight funny sounding noise, not sure waht it is. I do not think it is the valves because the car runs just as strong as it did before the change. So ideas on what could be causeing this new found noise?

Did you change the water pump while you were in there?

also check for loose parts that may be contacting something like one of the pullies or the fan. I assume it changes frequency with the RPMs?

yes, I chsnged the thermostat and water pump. the more i listened to it today it seems like belt noise coming from the lower ac compressor belt . in terms of changeing frequency it goes away completely when you apply even the smallest amount of gas.

It could be something on the accessory belt, maybe the fan clutch. Try taking off the belt and run the engine to see if the noise is still there.

I don't know if it is a common thing, but when I did my starter motor the other week I noticed I had a bad tensioner pully on the AC. They're not to expensive to replace and it's an easy check (just remove the belt and see if the noise goes away)
