Default Check Engine Light On

My check engine light started flashing the other night on the way home from work. When I start it, it now stays solid. Two questions. First, is it OK to drive it over to a mechanic to have it tested with it solid? Two, the coolant level is a little low, just below the Min mark. I assume this is not the cause of the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

blinking = BAD - solid = not so bad, Blinking usually means missfire. take it to autozone and have them check your codes for you. bring the codes back here and post them and we'll tell you what the problem is.

low coolant level with turn the CEL on because its a threat to the engine at least that's how the ECU sees it

I took the car to a friend that can diagnose, and it came up with a cylinder #2 misfire. I am hoping it is a sparkplug or something easier along those lines. Does this seem reasonable?
