Yah, probably the MAF.
What are your symptoms if you have a MAF problem or O2 problem? How can anyone determined if any of these expensive parts need to be replaced?

going thru the same stuff myself... CEL's been on and off for about a month now. Codes pointed to the o2 so took it to my mech and replaced the o2 sensor (front).

he said that the rear was fine but lo and behold the CEL lit up again. codes now point to a lean mixture. Gonna have to get the rear one replaced.

Any suggestions as I just want to NOT see the CEL again. Also, is there a point where I sould bite the bullet and take her to the dealership... but then again, I may have to pay for this peace of mind...

You should buy a VAGCOM to see what the codes. I have a feeling you may just need to replaced the vacuum hoses. Those cloth covered rubber tend to rot and break. I just replaced 3 of them over the weekend and when I pulled them off the whole rubber just crumbled in my fingers. Anyone know where I could get metal braided hoses?

if you have a K&N air filter on the car then the o2 sensor might be clogged. ...then again it could be the leak that you said...dont know whats wrong man
