Ok sounds like a plan i'm gonna call audi tomorrow. I would say its never had it done i've had the car since its had 46,000 miles on it so. It might cost me but i just need to get it fixed so i can pass the emissions test. I have a few other things to do along with this latest problem. Would doing a tune up myself be an easy task? i've rebuilt a mustang so i'm mechanically inclined.. I just have to find a way to cut the cost of some of the upkeep. If some of the task are easy i will do them.

 

Yeah a tune up is easy on the 2.8L, the spark plug wires are numbered so you can't mess that up either, the oil filter and drain plug are right next to each other so thats an easy task.
Being at 97,000 miles i would hope you have already done the timing belt and water pump combo because that should be done at 80k (prone to breaking).
